A little reflection

Wow, has it been busy on the campaign trail! The past few days have been very peaceful- every evening, I haven’t been doing campaigning. Instead, I took some time to recharge and be with my family. Last Thursday, I realized that I had not eaten a meal with my family for seven days straight, let alone prepared a meal (I enjoy cooking). I also realized that I had yet to get home before 7:30-8:30 pm each of those days. That seven-day stretch exhausted me. I missed my kids; I missed my husband; I missed my pets; I missed my couch; I missed everything.

Since Saturday afternoon, I have not had any evening plans, and realizing that I needed to recharge and spend time with my family, I didn’t schedule anything this week. Saturday night arrived, and I really enjoyed making dinner for my family. My one son had mentioned earlier in the week that we hadn’t had chili in a while. That made picking a meal easy, and he was super excited to enjoy that dinner. Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday have come and gone, and each night we ate together at the table as a family. Over the past few days, I helped with homework, went to church, visited with close friends, and got to be the passenger while my one son continues to learn to drive (he recently got his permit- and has been getting many miles throughout Clearfield County).

It put in perspective how important my family and friends are to me and how easy it can be to take what we have for granted. One of my core values is family, and ensuring that I find the time for them, regardless of my busyness, is a vital part of who I am. As I get ready to get back into the last neck of this race, I’ll appreciate the little breaks I take throughout the process.

I have had many people ask me what they can do to help. I have a couple of things that I need from everyone:

1- register to vote at http://www.vote.org,

2- make sure to go and vote on May 16,

3- please keep me and everyone else on the campaign trail in your prayers,

4- On May 17, 2023, win or lose- if you put a sign out for me on a public roadside- please make sure to take it down,

5- talk to your friends and family about voting and who you are voting for, and why,

6- if you’re interested in working a poll for me- message me on Facebook, or if you have my cellphone number- give me a call.

Thank you for reading this! I appreciate you! Love & Light your way!
