Dr. Mary Tatum is a Diplomat Child Forensic Interviewer (DCFI) and current Director of the Child Advocacy Center of Clearfield County. Her unique combination of advanced education, public administration leadership, and two decades of direct child welfare experience makes her a trusted advisor across sectors—from rural nonprofits to state policymakers.
Over two decades, Dr. Tatum has:
- Secured competitive grants for county government, nonprofits, and law enforcement agencies
- Chaired and facilitated multidisciplinary teams addressing child abuse and family intervention
- Earned recognition for her distinguished service as the CAC leader
- Presented at the National Children’s Alliance, Penn State, and Commonwealth University-Lock Haven
- Served as a speaker, peer reviewer, and thought partner in forums across Pennsylvania and nationwide
- Guest lectured at a variety of schools and colleges, such as Commonwealth University (Lock Haven and Clearfield Campuses), Penn State DuBois, Moshannon Valley High School, and Clearfield High School.
With upcoming shifts in federal funding priorities—especially OJP’s emphasis on measurable outcomes and streamlined administration—Dr. Tatum helps clients strategically reframe proposals to align with emerging expectations. Her political background as a former county commissioner and her current advisory roles with multiple boards give her clients a unique edge in staying competitive.
